Those of you who know me, know that I would do absolutely anything for my cats. Well, in the last week, one of my beautiful babies, Moon, has put me to the test. Moon has been diagnosed with FIP, a viral disease caused by feline coronavirus. FIP is one of the deadliest killers of cats and kittens, and is an absolute nightmare of a diagnosis. Literally, my worst fear.
However, in the recent past, a medical miracle occurred, and there is now an antiviral drug that, when started early, can cure cats of this heartbreaking disease.
This is where Mooney and I are asking you for help. The cycle for this treatment lasts a minimum of 80 days. We are on day 9 and have blown through most of our injectable meds. We will be starting on oral meds in the next day or so. This will consist of 3 pills daily, every day for 80 days. Each of these pills is $3. My first 2-week purchase of these life-saving meds was $460.
We have a long road ahead of us, but we are here to fight. We are here to become more FIP warriors. Euthanasia will NOT be an option.
I know we are all fighting daily battles these days. Life is never easy, even on its best day. It’s embarrassing to ask for money, but for Moon, I’ll put my pride aside and ask you to please help us. Even one penny will help towards his care.
Moon, at only 3 years old, deserves many more years of being a wonderful foster uncle to our revolving door of kittens. He deserves to lay belly up in front of the space heater for so many more winters. He deserves a fighting chance because so many fought for him to be here in the first place.
Thank you for reading about our journey, and thank you for loving Moon and me, his mama.
