Mohawk Forever: Bring Buffalo’s Stage Back to Life
Phase 1: Reopen Mohawk, Together
If you’ve ever stepped through the doors of Mohawk Place, you know the magic. It’s where strangers became friends pressed shoulder to shoulder. Where kids saw their very first show and left wanting to start bands of their own. Where legends and locals shared the same stage, night after night, leaving behind stories that became part of Buffalo’s DNA.
Mohawk Place has always been our stage—Buffalo’s stage. And right now, she’s silent.
When we took on this project, we knew it wouldn’t be easy. We’ve poured in every ounce of time, money, sweat, and heart we had—alongside an army of volunteers who carried lumber, painted walls, pulled cable, and gave their weekends so the lights might shine again. We’ve gone as far as we possibly can with the resources we have.
And the truth is: it’s not enough.
The building revealed challenges we didn’t know we’d be facing. More repairs, more code requirements, more unexpected costs than anyone could have imagined. We don’t say that with bitterness—we say it with honesty. Because despite it all, we are still here, still fighting, still believing in what Mohawk can mean for Buffalo’s future.
But to finish this job—to get the doors back open, to welcome the first wave of touring bands we already have lined up, to secure Mohawk’s future for the next 50 years—we need you.
Your support will go directly toward the essentials that make Mohawk safe, sound, and operational:
• A new fire alarm system (required to open)
• Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC upgrades to keep fans, artists, and staff safe
• Stage and flooring repairs so the room can rock again
• Hard-wired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
• Startup operational costs to keep the doors open and the music playing from day one
This isn’t just about fixing a building. It’s about preserving the soul of Buffalo music. It’s about ensuring there’s still a stage where the next generation of bands will cut their teeth, where lifelong friendships will be born, and where the legacy of every show that came before is honored in every note that rings out.

With Gratitude
To every volunteer who’s lifted a hammer, carried a speaker, painted a wall, or simply shown up for this cause: we see you, we thank you, and this is as much your story as it is ours.
To every person who’s about to donate: know that you’re not just giving money—you’re giving Buffalo back its heartbeat.
Let’s Do This
We are so close! We’ve given everything we can. Now we’re asking Buffalo to meet us in this final stretch. Together, we can make sure Mohawk Place doesn’t just reopen—it thrives as a safe, sustainable, and community-driven home for music for the next 50 years and beyond.
Let’s keep the grit alive. Let’s make Mohawk Forever.
