Save Mitch From Cancer

Hello, this is Michael Reynolds-Smith.

My dad Mitchell Smith was diagnosed with inoperable cancer nearly 5 years ago.

It started in his throat, and after full dose chemotherapy and radiation, he couldn't eat or drink through his throat and therefore was put on a stomach tube to obtain the nutrients he needed. Needless to say, he was on the verge of dying.

He lost over 120 Ibs and was awakened to a major lifestyle change.

We thought the cancer was gone for good about a year into this journey, but the nightmare continued.

The cancer cells spread to his chest and formed a new tumor. The doctors had him on multiple chemo drugs in order to raise his chances of living.

After more chemo and the proper medication, the tumor shrunk in his chest and seemed to be dying.

However, the cancer cells spread AGAIN and made their way to his lungs and his liver (15 tumors). We prayed a ton, received lots of help from family and friends, and after a while we experienced a miracle...

My dad went to the doctor one day and after they did their scans they told him he was cancer free!

My dad literally beat cancer and we are so grateful to God and all of you for all of your help and mercy in our lives.

However, my dad is facing new challenges as a result of fighting cancer all these years...

He's been under EXTREMELY stressful conditions since his diagnosis. And even now, since he's been pronounced free from cancer, he has to take chemo infusion every 6 weeks and follow a very strict routine to stay healthy and it doesn't leave much time for him to work and take care of himself financially.

We're trying to help him slowly ease back into normal life so he can maintain his health and get back on his feet without compromising his well being.

He hasn't been able to properly rest and heal like most cancer patients can because of our financial situation.

Right now we are humbly asking for financial assistance to help him so that my dad doesn't have to worry about working during this time when he should be focusing on healing and making sure this cancer NEVER comes back.

The funds will be used to cover his basic necessities in order for him to focus on what he needs to do to heal over the next 12 months. They will also be used to pay off the medical debts he's incurred these last 5 years. The funds will also allow him to continue to afford the appropriate medications to maintain his healing process.

We hope to reach our fundraising goal for my dad within the next 90 days! (March 31st, 2024)
