Help Milo With His Surgery

Hi, my name is Asja , and I’m reaching out with the heaviest heart. My sweet playful baby boy A Shih Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier mix also known as a shorkie , was recently hit by a drunk driver driving fastly down a residential block and was left with both of his back legs broken , internal bleeding and needing surgery to remove the broken bones that were left inside of him which could possibly cause more of his organ to be damaged and possibly be fatal. The good news is, with surgery and proper treatment , Milo has a strong chance of recovery. The heartbreaking part? The treatment is expensive, and as a full-time student, I simply don’t have the financial means to cover it all on my own.

Milo isn’t just a dog. He’s my best friend, my protector, my emotional support, and the soul of my home. We’ve been through everything together. Since he was a puppy, I’ve made it my mission to give him the best life possible—he’s up-to-date on all his shots, gets regular vet checkups, goes on daily walks, has a mountain of toys (even though he always picks the same favorite), and sleeps curled up next to me every night. He’s family.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love this dog. Milo has been there during my lowest moments—through life changes, and days when it felt like everything was falling apart. He gives me strength when I feel weak and joy on even the hardest days. Now, it’s my turn to fight for him.

The cost of treatment is significant—between vet visits, medications, bloodwork, and follow-ups, we’re looking at several thousands of dollars , maybe more. I’m doing everything I can: saving every penny, cutting expenses, and even picking up extra work when possible. But it’s still not enough. That’s why I’m humbly asking for your help.
