Our sweet boy Milo has been part of our family for eight years — he came into our lives as the start of a joke; someone at the port asked if I wanted a puppy, and jokingly I said yes. That “joke” became one of the greatest blessings our family has ever known. He grew up alongside my son, who was one years old at the time. Since then Milo has been my son’s best friend, protector, comfort, and constant companion every single day of his life. Milo is the dog who loves gently, who has never known anything but kindness, and who has been family from the moment he landed in our arms by surprise.

Over the past two weeks, Milo suddenly became sick — vomiting, refusing food, losing energy, and becoming lethargic. After multiple vet visits, medications, fluids, bloodwork, and two urgent care trips, we still didn’t have answers. We’ve already spent over $2,000 trying to find out what was wrong.

Finally, after an advanced ultrasound with a specialist, we received devastating news:

Milo has a mid-jejunal intestinal blockage and surgery is needed within 24 hours, or the obstruction may perforate — which is fatal. The full cost for emergency surgery, hospitalization, monitoring, fluids, anesthesia, and recovery care is estimated at:
