While driving down the interstate we spotted a kitten off the side of the road limping. We immediately parked the car and ran down to check on him. We found a 10 week old kitten with a missing leg, with just a bone hanging off where a leg should be. We were 3 hours from home and took him to the closest emergency vet we could find. We spent all night going from vet to vet trying to figure out what was best to save this little guy. He needed a blood transfusion, iv antibiotics and will eventually need a full leg amputation surgery. The surgery costs are pretty hefty, but we are committed to saving little Mickey and have already adopted him as our own.
