My precious brother Michael has always been a giver and rarely asks for anything in return. He's taught Improv. for years, encouraging students of all ages to attend whether they could afford to pay or not. I recall one friend of his, an alcoholic. Michael would be over at his house cooking him a good meal, sometimes in the middle of the night, after rescuing him from another difficult situation. The next day, his friend would have no memory of it. That wasn't Michael's concern. He doesn't look for praise. He just gives to give. Now, he needs our help. With little warning, Michael went from being an active 73-year-old living off the grid and always ready to help a friend to a devastating diagnosis of aggressive stage 4 prostate cancer that spread to his lymph nodes, bones, and spine. He's already in pain and has lost 25 pounds.
