Merlin is an amazing, loving little 7-month-old kitten who was recently diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). Merlin has the "wet" version of the illness with fluid build-up in his abdomen. His weight dropped from 7.9 lbs to a skeletal 7.1 within two weeks. He was rushed to the vet, also suffering from severe jaundice and fever. He has received daily IV fluids and other medications to stabilize him. FIP was previously a terminal illness, but there is now a medication available to treat him and save his life. Merlin has been placed on the antiviral GS-441524, just approved for use last year by the FDA. Unfortunately, this medication is extremely expensive and also his only shot at survival. His treatment will last 84 days of meds, labs, and vet checks. Please help me save Merlin.
