Save Mercer's Historic Meeting House

The Mercer Meeting House, a treasured landmark dating back to the early 1800's, is in URGENT need of repair, and we need your help. Maintained by a small but dedicated volunteer organization, this historic building was undergoing bell tower repairs when it was discovered that the damage was far more structural than cosmetic. The project was halted immediatley due to safety concerns and a significant increase in cost (far beyond our current resources). As a nonprofit 501(c)(3), we have limited access to federal grants due to our small community size and use, despite the Meeting House being listed on both the Maine and National Registers of Historic Places. A generous matching county grant was awarded, but it only covers a fraction of the revised expense. We are now turning to those who believe in preserving our shared heritage. Please consider donating to help us restore this beloved 200 year old timepiece, as symbol of Mercer's history and heart. With your support, we can ensure it stands for generations to come.
