Friends,

This morning, Medusa was not acting like her fun loving self, and I knew this because she had no reaction when asked if she wanted to go for a walk or if she wanted a treat. She was very lethargic, and I knew something was up. Mikayla and I took her to vet, and they found a tumor that had ruptured, causing blood to leak into her abdomen. The vet recommended we take her to the emergency vet immediately. She needs emergency surgery to remove the tumor and a blood transfusion to continue living a fun happy life.

Mikayla and I are beside ourselves. We are supposed to leave for Rockford on Saturday in preparation for our wedding next Friday. What was supposed to be one of the happiest months of our lives has turned into a nightmare, and we can’t fathom coming back to Brooklyn with our special girl not being there, tail wagging, when we get back . Any help is so greatly appreciated. Everyone who has met Medusa knows she is a special, special dog whose soul you feel connected to ❤️

Medusa 'Dusa' is an 10 year old pit-boxer mix who loves, and is loved where ever she goes. She is the sweetest, most easy going, well behaved girl who loves to cuddle, nap, play fetch outside and explore the many smells that nature has to offer. She has lived with other dogs, including small dogs and is an excellent companion for other furry friends. Medusa grew up in Northern Illinois but has lived in Brooklyn for the past 4 years and has adapted wonderfully to the city life. Her favorite things are playing fetch, going for walks, sleeping, and cuddling under a blanket.

Mikayla raised Medusa since she was born. She is a friend to all, and a very special soul we cannot bear to lose.
