Our family is going through a very difficult time. My aunt Shirley's rescue pup Maxi, who lives with our family in Colombia, was suddenly rushed to the hospital after losing movement in his back legs. He became severely lethargic, and we knew something was terribly wrong.

He is now admitted to the animal hospital under close observation. The vets are working hard to understand what caused this sudden paralysis , and they’ve started treatment immediately. Right now, we don’t know how long he’ll need to be hospitalized—it all depends on how he responds to care.

The initial cost is around $1,000, but it could increase based on additional treatments, imaging, or possible surgery. Unfortunately, this is an unexpected financial burden that my aunt simply can't handle alone and i would like to try the best in my ability to help her with the cost. She is a hard working single mother and is financially responsabile for my grandparents and cousin by herself. She is a huge animal lover, she is the kind of person that makes sure every dog on the street has a roof over their head and a meal when they need most.

Maxi is only 5 years old and the sweetest, most loving pup you’ll ever meet. He’s family. He brings so much light and love into our lives, and we are heartbroken to see him suffering.

Nuestra familia está pasando por un momento muy difícil. El perrito rescatado de mi tía Shirley, Maxi, quien vive con nuestra familia en Colombia, fue llevado de emergencia al hospital veterinario tras perder movimiento en sus patas traseras. Estaba muy decaído y no podía orinar—sabíamos que algo andaba muy mal.

Maxi tiene solo 5 años y es el perrito más dulce y cariñoso. No es solo una mascota, es parte de nuestra familia, y nos duele profundamente verlo sufrir.
