Help Matt & Leah rebuild
If you’ve been following me, you know that Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County have been hit by historic flooding. Our community has faced incredible challenges over the past week, and now some close friends of mine need our help.
Meet Matt, Leah, and their three children. They live on the San Juan River in San Juan River Village. While they were traveling, Mother Nature decided to wipe out their entire backyard. Today, the only thing standing between their home and the San Juan River is a sliding glass door.
The floodwaters claimed their entire yard, deck, hot tub, and all. (And if anyone happens to spot a wandering deck and spa floating somewhere between here and Lake Navajo… please send it back home! )
But in all seriousness, this is urgent. With the waterline now pressing up against their home’s foundation, there’s no time to wait for insurance claims or federal aid. Emergency measures are needed now to stabilize the ground, protect the home, and begin the long process of rebuilding what’s been lost.
Unfortunately, this kind of work is incredibly costly and beyond what this young family can handle alone. That’s why I’m asking for your help. Every dollar donated will go directly toward protecting the foundation, securing the property, and restoring what Mother Nature has taken.
And in true Pagosa fashion, if this campaign raises more than what’s needed, Matt and Leah have pledged to donate any remaining funds to other local families affected by this historic flooding.
Pagosa has always been a place of heart, resilience, and neighbors helping neighbors. Let’s show that spirit now. Please donate, share, and help us keep this family and their home standing strong.
