Save Mason: Help Him Overcome His Tough Start

Meet the resilient mason! he’s a four year old doberman rescued from San Bernardino. Mason has unfortunately faced countless challenges in his life. Animal control found him tied to a pole on the side of the road. his ears were cut off with scissors and he was severely malnourished. His stomach is covered in a staph infection that has persisted being resistant to various forms of treatment. We’ve had him for two months now after finding him in the shelter and he is a wonderful dog. He’s still incredibly timid due to the abuse he’s had to face, but regardless he has a huge heart. He enjoys playing tug a war with his new sister, lounging in the sun, and any kind of dog treat. He’s been a wonderful addition to our home, we can already tell what a sweet and loving dog he is. Life was harsh to him but despite that he’s remained a gentle giant eager to finally have a family love and embrace him. Unfortunately, masons medical issues are incredibly expensive. We have had a lot of luck but still are facing so many obstacles. He’s managed to gain 20 pounds in his time with us but his staph infection is only appearing to worsen. Due to his ear crop he has constant infections and his ears require weekly cleanings. His blood work has yet to improve either, it’s clear his body has been working on over drive for years. In the 2 months he’s spent with us vet expenses have totaled $4,000 and we simply cannot afford to continue spending the money. We desperately need help funding Masons medical bills. He’s a wonderful dog who deserves a real chance and we hope to give it to him. He’s bonded immensely with our entire family and our other doberman and rehoming him is the last thing we’d want to do. We’ve seen so much progress in these months. The shell of a dog we met 2 months ago is finally showing us the immense potential he has.
