Save Mark's Saw Shop

Hi, my name is Kayla. (As most of you know)

Many of you know my dad, Mark Fraser, as the famous "chainsaw man". He is the local community's go to for services and repairs. He has always been very in tune with small engines, and passionate about his work. He is widely known to be reliable and fair on his prices and an expert in his technique and work, all while providing exceptional customer service.

A little back story on my dad:
He worked at Cousin's Saw Mill for many years. He was the guy everyone always went to when they needed work done.
He decided he wanted to venture out on his own and start his own repair shop right at his home in Windsor, where he could spend more time with his grandkids and be able to take care of his home during his down time. The shop was very successful for several years... But then COVID.

When the COVID lockdown hit, things really started to turn a hard corner for my dad. The work wasn't flowing in but the bills sure were. He worked day in and day out to try and keep the shop afloat and still get his bills paid. No matter how hard he pushed himself, he never seemed to be able to get back on track.

Fast forward a year after the lockdown, and my dad came into a family situation where he now supports and cares for 2 young children (10&12 years old) by himself, and with absolutely zero State Aid.

Mark is in his 60s and has spent his whole life with debilitating hip pain, diabetes, and other medical conditions that are expensive to treat but necessary in order for him to survive. He also was recently diagnosed with A-FIB.

Due to my dad's medical conditions, he WOULD fully qualify for medical disability. However, he is a proud man and has never once asked anyone for a handout to help him through life.

He enjoys working and teaching my niece and nephew the values of hard work and dedication, which is why he will not apply for the assistance he rightly would deserve based on the nature of his medical conditions.

He has not asked me to great this GoFundMe, and has not ever asked me or anyone to help him with his struggles.

He has a lot of work at the shop that he is striving so hard to get done, order parts for, etc. so he can continue to be there for the customers that rely on him.

I'm asking for my friends, many of which are customers of his, to please donate anything you can to help him get the shop back on track. He is making just enough money to get by, but struggling financially to get what he needs from distributers to continue his services. Extremely high costs of parts combined with high shipping rates has made things difficult. Any donations will fully go towards a jump start on having the overhead he needs to order and stock up on the supplies and parts he needs.

I know times are tough for everyone. Rising costs of virtually everything has hit us all hard. But if you can find it possible to donate even a little bit, our family would be absolutely grateful for your support.

Mark truly wants to continue to be your go-to man for all your chainsaw needs.

Thank you so much for reading. If you aren't able to donate, please share Mark's story so we can save his shop.
