Save Mark Sullivan (aka "Smedley")

My name is Mark J. Sullivan, Jr. My son, Mark III is an aspiring engineer who goes by “Joe” and whose administrative & technological savvy prevented this missive from becoming a mish-mosh.

With Joe’s assistance, I’ll be raising funds – first & foremost, to help cover my expenses during the rather elaborate, ongoing treatment for advanced cardiovascular disease with which I am confronted. To wit:

I’m slated for imminent open-heart surgery.

Ideally, in the aftermath, I intend to facilitate better medical transportation systems for patients in straits similar to those that I’ve recently experienced – and those that are surely yet to come.

For the last few years or so, I’ve contended with a raft of maladies, including COVID, COPD, a dodgy knee, a hurtful shoulder, a flaring hip, a peculiar form of pneumonia, aortic stenosis, an ever-widening leak in “the ol’ memory bank,” and a multi-generational congenital heart defect.

During these aforementioned travails, I’ve realized that the enfeebled and the elderly need more than that to which they’ve become accustomed.

As mentioned in the preceding remarks, I’m raising funds for various reasons, the first & foremost being the expenses attendant upon my health and well-being during my recent medical travails. As those conditions continue to improve, so may the systems mentioned earlier, which may attract the many endeavors, individuals, organizations, and events participating in fundraising opportunities.
