Hi everyone,

This is Margot — a brave, bright, and beautiful 12-week-old German Shepherd puppy with a heart full of love… and sadly, a heart in need of help.

Margot came into our lives through the veterinary clinic where I work. She was brought in by a breeder who discovered she had a grade 5 heart murmur — a serious sign of heart disease. The breeder’s decision was to have her euthanized due to her condition. But Margot’s primary veterinarian and I saw more than a diagnosis — we saw a fighter, a puppy full of life and potential. We simply couldn’t let her story end there.

Instead of giving up on her, we stepped in to rescue Margot and give her a real chance. We had her heart evaluated by a veterinary cardiologist and confirmed that she has Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) — a congenital defect that, if left untreated, will cause her heart to fail. But the good news is, PDA is operable. With surgery, Margot can go on to live a normal, happy life.

The procedure is delicate and expensive. We've been quoted $9,000 for the surgery, diagnostics, and follow-up care. While we’ve given Margot all the love and support we can, we can’t do this part alone — we need help.

Margot is more than just a puppy — she’s already brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives. Her spirit is bright, and despite her condition, she’s full of energy, snuggles, and curiosity. We want to give her the future she deserves.
