Save Mardade: A Mother's Fight for Life
Donation protected
My name is Shelsia Rameau, and I’m asking for your help to save my mother, Marie Mardade, a loving and devoted mother of five, who is currently in a coma in Haiti—alone, far from her children, and in desperate need of medical care and legal support.
Seventeen years ago, our mom left the United States due to her visa expiration. She had no choice but to return to Haiti, with hopes of finding a way back to her kids. Tragically, that way back never came.
Now, she lies unconscious in a hospital in Haiti, where access to quality medical care is extremely limited. Her condition is life-threatening, and every hour without proper treatment puts her at greater risk. We’ve done as much as we can—but Haiti is in a crisis. The country is facing a humanitarian emergency, and violence and instability make it dangerous even to visit, let alone receive safe, reliable care.
On top of this heartbreaking medical emergency, we are also fighting a legal battle. Our family is seeking an immigration attorney to help us bring her back to the United States legally—so she can get the care she needs and be reunited with the children she hasn’t been able to hold in nearly two decades.
We are raising $20000 to cover:
- Urgent medical care and potential medical evacuation
- Immigration attorney and legal filing fees
- Travel and accommodation expenses
- Support for her children during this crisis
We are doing everything we can to fight for her life and bring her home.
Please donate whatever you can, and share this campaign with your friends, family, and community. Your help could mean the difference between life and death—and the hope of a long-overdue reunion between a mother and her children.
With deep gratitude,
Shelsia & Family
