Save Marcellus: Urgent Medical Help Needed
Donation protected
Let me tell you about my best friend, Marcellus. He’s named after one of my favorite shows— The Originals!
Marcel came into my life as a complete surprise and I don’t know what my life would look like without him. During COVID, randomly found Marcel from a non profit pet rescue from Puerto Rico—called Safe and Sounds Satos. Marcel was adopted at 3 months old and I instantly fell in love with him. He was a dog, you could tell had been through a lot in his short life. Marcel was TERRIFIED and had so much anxiety upon arrival. This grew me closer to him because I understood him as I have dealt with anxiety too. In the pandemic, we were able to spend so much time together and we essentially helped heal each other during that time. We bonded and helped each overcome anxiety and mental health issues. I was his emotional support human and he’s my emotional support dog. With a lot of love and patience he got comfortable with us and he knew we were his forever family. He became the happiest Dog I’ve ever seen. He is so loving, so empathetic, energetic and protective of his family. He is my safe space and I am his. We became bestfriends and I love him with everything in me. He’s come a long way and has grown so much. Recently, I have noticed a change in my happy playful guy. He’s always had so much energy and always wanted to run and play all the time and then one day he started acting different. He wasn’t himself and he wasn’t moving a lot and not eating much. So naturally, I began to worry about him. As the days went on, I noticed that he was tripping and tipping over. He is a very agile dog, so I immediately knew this was not normal. When we would take him out for a walk we noticed he was wobbly and couldn’t hold himself up. As the time passed he was getting worse and couldn’t walk at all, so we took him to the emergency vet. The doctor told us it could be two things: Cancer or inflammation of the brain. I was also told, that if it is cancer Marcel would unfortunately have to be put down because he would be suffering. I don’t ever want him to suffer and I want to figure out what is going on with him. As we all know, vet billings are very expensive and I am humbly asking for some help. I will update and post receipts of all his medical bills. As of now the doctor quotes me $5k for the MRI only. Hopefully we all find out the news that he does not have cancer. Any and all donations will be very much appreciated.
