Hi, this is Louise and Nikki, Makka's moms.

Makka was diagnosed with diabetes in January 2025, which quickly led to cataracts by March. Despite the excellent care from GoreyBray Vet, her vision has worsened rapidly. A veterinary ophthalmologist confirmed that she is almost blind and will soon be totally blind.

Fortunately, she is a candidate for surgery, but her insurance company refuses to cover anything related to her diabetes. We are appealing, but it won't be resolved in time to save her eyesight. The surgery costs €4,500, not including aftercare beyond 2 follow-ups.

We cannot afford this surgery without insurance help.
