I regretfully have some bad news to share regarding my best friend... my dog Maisie. She is currently hospitalized at the Tropicana Animal Hospital here in Las Vegas, NV. She is very sick, and has not been able to eat or drink for a few days now. She has been vomiting continuously and is very lethargic.

Last night around 10 om, I took her to the hospital to find out what was going on. After 4 hours of tests and X-rays, the vet returned and told me the news was not good.

She is in need of emergency surgery for a life threatening blockage in her lower GI Tract. She has been put on medications and currently has an IV to deliver fluids and medications directly into her blood stream.

She has an ultra-sound scheduled for later today (Wednesday) to find out if the blockage is a tumor or maybe something she swallowed? Either way in order for her life to be spared, she will require surgery and several days of aftercare in the animal hospital.

As you can all imagine, this costs a considerable amount of money at a time where I am not financially prepared for such a huge financial undertaking.

I am literally hat in hand asking for help for my precious girl. Many of you know her. You know how sweet and kind she is. You know she is not a normal dog, and is more like a human being. We are in serious need of help at this time. Without treatment, her condition will only continue to deteriorate.
