We are The Wild Blueberry Collective--A women led community effort to fundraise and purchase 158 acres of wild blueberry land located in Searsport, Maine.
Maine produces 99% of the country's wild blueberries, and we are at risk of losing this unique, glacier-carved landscape to development.
Whether you live in, or visit Maine, we are sure you have a connection to the wild blueberry. Our collective share memories of picking berries to make the family a pie or a crisp. We see many of these barrens disappearing to development and want to protect these precious lands and the traditions made with them.
In less than a century, Maine went from having 150,000 acres of wild blueberry land to under 50,000. We understand the need for housing, but once this land is gone, it is gone for good.
We must reach our goal, otherwise this property will be listed and at risk of development.
Help us save the blueberries, and create a space for everyone to enjoy now, and in the future.
Love,
Crystal and Gloria and the rest of the blueberry gang
