Save Main Street Cafe in Durham KS

The Main Street Cafe has become popular not only for residents in Durham and the surrounding communities, but across Kansas and the nation. The restaurant has been in the spotlight for its homemade sausage, wide variety of freshly baked pies, peppernuts, and Friday Night German Buffet. Wendell Wedel opened the Main Street Cafe on October 4, 1995 and was featured in 2018 in the Dining Section of the Wichita Eagle. Denise Neil shared an update in the Wichita Eagle on July 9. https://www.kansas.com/entertainment/restaurants/dining-with-denise-neil/article232411852.html
Durham residents reported as little as 5 inches of rain in one area and as much as 10 inches of rain in another area on the morning of July 4 which caused the Cottonwood Rived to flood. The Main Street Cafe had 3 FEET of floodwater and was very severely damaged!! Other businesses and homes were also flooded.
Update: Jared Dyck has some drone pictures of the Durham flood on Facebook.
Update: Wendell will likely retire BUT he has identified a local successor and is willing to help them get started! Your donation will go to reopen the Main Street Cafe. Please help save our delicious homemade pie and favorite Friday night German Buffet.
