Maia Loes and two of her children are currently in the process of being evicted from their home in California.

Maia was hospitalized in March 2022 and as of April 2022, has been unable to work at all. Since that time, Maia, a single mother, has gone through all of her savings and retirement funds just to keep a roof over her and her two children's heads. While Maia has completed the disability application process, she will not begin receiving benefits until May 2023 at the earliest.

In the meantime, because she has been unable to pay her monthly rent, her landlord is moving forward with the eviction process. The funds would keep Maia and her two children in their small two-bedroom apartment until Maia's disability benefits begin.
