Mabel is six months old. She was born in July, and she is still a baby in every way that matters.
A short time ago she broke her leg. The ball of her joint is still sitting in her hip socket, but the bone coming off of it is shattered. She cannot heal from this on her own. She is in pain, and she needs surgery quickly.
The vet told us she is a good candidate for two options. An FHO surgery, which will remove the shattered part so her body can move without bone grinding on bone, or an amputation. Either option can save her life and give her a future where she can run, jump, play, and be a normal kitten again. The difference comes down to what we can afford fast enough.
Right now we are trying to raise $5,000 for the FHO surgery. That number feels unreal to type, but it is the cost of keeping her here and keeping her comfortable and giving her a real chance. We are doing everything we can, but we cannot get there alone, and the alternative is something I cannot accept. I do not want money to be the reason my kitten does not make it.
If you can donate, even a small amount, you are directly helping Mabel get out of pain and into treatment. If you cannot donate, sharing this helps more than you think. I just want to get her the surgery she needs and bring her home knowing she is going to be okay.
Thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping us save Mabel.
