Our sweet Luna got some bad news recently. After nursing her left rear leg for a month or so, we realized it had to be something worse than just a sprain or laying on it wrong. After X-rays, we received the unfortunate news that her cruciate ligament, the ligament that stabilizes her knee joint, was badly torn in that leg and degeneration was beginning in her other leg. Luna is only two years old and full of energy with a long life ahead of her. She was rescued by Big Paw Rescue; we adopted her from Unchained Melodies, and she has been a big part of our family and heart. She needs financial support to put her on the road to recovery, and the surgery needs to be performed by an orthopedic veterinarian in Kansas City. Luna's surgery will cost $5,000 per leg, as the other leg will most certainly need attention within the next year.
