Save Lulu's Leg: Your Help Can Make a Difference

Introducing you to Lulu, a puppy with a heart as big as her spirit. A Yorkshire Terrier born on June 1, 2024, Lulu was named after the word “lulu,” which means “one that is wonderful or remarkable.” And she truly lives up to her name. Lulu is a bundle of love and energy. Every day, she brings so much joy to our family, bounding around with excitement and filling every room with laughter.

But recently, that endless energy got the best of her. While playing with my daughter, Lulu got a little too excited, leaping right out of her hands and falling hard to the ground. I rushed her to the emergency vet, where we found out that two bones in her little leg had broken. The pain was heartbreaking to see, and hearing that she needed surgery to heal was overwhelming.

Lulu underwent surgery, but after several follow-up visits, the surgeon told me that her leg wasn’t healing as expected. They said the only option left was to amputate her leg. At only eight months old, the thought of Lulu losing a leg was devastating. She’s so young, and I want to give her every chance at a full and happy life. Determined to give her the best possible future, I sought a second opinion. Thankfully, another surgeon is willing to try to restore Lulu’s leg and avoid amputation. However, this will require another surgery, effectively starting over. The cost of the first surgery was already a financial burden for me and this second surgery is way more than I can afford. This procedure is significant, and I believe Lulu deserves every opportunity to heal and live the life she was meant to have.
