I’m not someone who asks for help easily, but I am reaching out during one of the most difficult moments of my life.
My beloved cat, Louie, is critically ill and currently undergoing urgent care at an emergency veterinary hospital.
Louie is a 6-year-old British Shorthair and the most important being in my life.
From the very beginning, he wasn’t just something I cared for—he became part of my daily life. Our routines became one: habits, quiet moments, and a shared rhythm that I didn’t realize would come to mean so much later.
As the months and years passed, we grew up side by side in our own way. He changed from a small, playful kitten into the most soft-hearted, kind, and gentle companion. Always by my side—morning cuddles in bed, eating breakfast together before I left for work, and coming home at the end of the day to find him waiting in his usual spot on the sofa.
He was there through ordinary days and difficult ones, offering comfort simply by being near. He asked for so little—just presence, care, and the small routines we built together.
This afternoon, I rushed him to an emergency veterinary hospital after noticing his eye had become completely red and cloudy. What the doctors found broke my heart…
What began as subtle changes in his behavior quickly escalated into something far more serious. After multiple visits, tests, and consultations, Louie has been diagnosed with ocular FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), a historically fatal disease if left untreated, as well as severe glaucoma in his eye.
Despite all efforts, the pressure and damage have become so advanced that veterinarians have warned there is only about a 10% chance of saving his eye, and he is likely to lose it.
Hearing this has been absolutely devastating. Louie is not just a pet—he is family. He has been a constant source of love, comfort, and stability in my life, and I am determined to do everything I can to give him a fighting chance.
So far, I have already spent over $4,500 on emergency visits, diagnostics, and hospitalization. The projected cost for ongoing care, including specialized treatment for FIP, medications, and possible surgery, could reach $15,000 to $20,000.
I am humbly asking for any support you can offer, whether that is a donation or simply sharing this page. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps me continue fighting for Louie’s life and gives him a chance at more time, comfort, and care.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time. ❤️
Updates will be shared as I learn more about Louie’s condition.
