URGENT - We need your help to save Looking Glass Tattoos! #SaveLookingGlass #SmallBusinessRelief
On March 17th, we made the decision for the safety of our artists and clients to temporarily close our doors. We are becoming increasingly aware and anxious that government aid is leaving our tiny business out of their relief options. We find ourselves without income and need help to remain open.
Being in NJ, we are one of the hardest hit areas. The impact of the virus, and social distancing, for us will last beyond the reopening of many businesses. As a close contact service, we do not know when we can expect to go back to doing what we love.
This week (4/20/20) was Looking Glass's 7 year anniversary of opening.
We feel proud as we reach this milestone, especially being female business owners in NJ.
We have overcome many challenges and learned so much along this journey, including super storm hurricane Sandy in 2012, which almost prevented us from ever opening.
Amber has been tattooing for 2 decades, and Looking Glass is the culmination of that experience and all of our hard work. Our vision was to open a little studio with good vibes and talented artists doing quality work- a creative and friendly place that anyone could feel comfortable walking into and getting tattooed. Amber was experiencing health issues in the recent past, had surgery, and was just getting back on her feet, and finally so was our studio.
We want to thank you all for your loyalty and support. Thank you for your appreciation for our art, your kindness, and the bonds we have formed with you throughout the years. You are why we exist and you are the reason we keep going.
The studio is our, the artists', and our clients' second home, and it is our livelihood. We are extremely grateful.
Everyone is facing uncertain times right now. Any donation amount is so greatly appreciated. We want to be here for you all once this is over, to continue to provide a clean, happy place to get your tattoo therapy.
Tattooing is a service that we provide and it is our life.
