Help Save Loki’s Leg — My Baby and "Big" Boy Needs Emergency Surgery

Hi everyone,
I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but I’m out of options and running out of time.

My cat Loki isn’t “just a pet” — he’s my shadow, my emotional support, and my best friend. He’s five years old, big and fluffy, and he’s been by my side through everything. Wherever I am, he’s right there — whether I’m laughing, crying, or just trying to get through the day at times, Loki is always next to me. He’s the kind of cat that knows when he just needs to be there and talks in his own way. He loves treats more than anything, and his personality fills every room with warmth or maybe that's just his body heat.

A few days ago, something awful happened. Loki accidentally smashed his paw under a falling table, breaking every one of the bones in his foot. My heart broke seeing him in so much pain. When I rushed him to the vet, they told me something I never expected to hear:
because of where the break happened — in his paw — the usual way to fix it isn’t possible. Cats can’t just have the paw repaired or partially amputated. Normally, the only option would be to remove the entire leg.

But Loki’s vet has been absolutely incredible — they truly put him first. After seeing the x-rays, the vet consulted with a specialist to see if there was any way to save his leg. Miraculously, the specialist said he can perform an emergency surgery to place pins in Loki’s toes and repair the bones.

That surgery would give Loki the chance to walk again on all four paws. Without it, the only option left would be a full amputation — but because Loki is a big boy, he wouldn’t adapt well to life on three legs. His vet made it clear: they’re trying to save his leg because they know how hard it would be for him to recover otherwise.

The problem is, this surgery is approximately $4,500, and it has to happen within the next 2–3 days before the bones start to heal incorrectly. I had spent the $800 I did have on this initial emergency visit. I simply don’t have the money right now, and it’s devastating to think that Loki’s future depends on something I can’t afford.

I’ve never done a fundraiser before, but this cat ... my loyal cat is my baby — and I’m doing everything I can to fight for him. Every dollar, every share, every bit of help brings Loki closer to keeping his leg and his happy, treat-loving life.

If you can help — even a little — it would mean the world to both of us. Please help me give Loki the chance to heal, walk, and live the full life he deserves.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring about my boy. You have no idea how much it means. I feel guilty even making this for people to donate but I'd rather say I tried instead of " I should have" when he has to get his leg taken off.

Loki is being treated by Dr Sharp at Haines Road Animal Hospital in St Petersburg, FL and the orthopedic surgery would be performed by Dr Curry at Epic specialty and emergency pet care. Both have been incredible advocates for him and have confirmed that surgery must happen as soon as possible to save his leg. I can verify the diagnosis, the urgency, and the surgical estimate if needed.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this.
