Loki’s Story – We Need Your Help
On April 22 at 2:00 a.m., our dog Loki went missing.
From that moment on, we never stopped looking for him… we searched multiple times every day, drove around neighborhoods, knocked on doors, posted on social media, and asked our community for help.
During those days, we also went through something very painful… we received many scam messages from people claiming they had him and asking for money, playing with our emotions and desperation.
Last Sunday, we saw a post on Facebook about a dog that looked just like Loki. We rushed there… but it wasn’t him. We came back home heartbroken.
Then something unexpected happened…
As we were arriving home, Loki showed up.
He was walking toward us… but not like before.
He looked exhausted, weak, and sad, covered in mud, with scratches on his body, and barely able to walk. It was clear he had been through a lot.
We gave him water and tried to clean him, but we quickly noticed he was limping and not moving much, just laying down. We knew something was wrong.
We took him to the emergency vet immediately.
After exams, the doctor gave us very difficult news:
Loki was most likely hit by a car
He has a dislocated hip.
And more seriously… his lungs are damaged
The doctor explained that air keeps building up in his chest, which means he likely has a pneumothorax (air leaking from his lungs).
To help him, they need to place a chest tube connected to a special system to stabilize his breathing.
Because of this, he cannot have hip surgery yet until his lungs improve and he is strong enough to survive the procedure.
Right now, Loki needs:
At least 2 days of hospitalization and monitoring
Treatment to stabilize his lungs
Then surgery for his hip
These are unexpected and overwhelming medical expenses that we were not prepared for.
With all our hearts, we are asking for help.
Any donation or even sharing this story would mean the world to us and could help save Loki’s life.
Loki is part of our family… and we are not ready to give up on him.
Thank you so much for your support.
