Hello folks. I'm just your average animal lover, with a bit of a situation on my hands. We adopted Lobo, this lovely young man you see pictured here, about a month ago from the Humane Society. Lobo was in their "working cats" program, as he was rescued from a home with over 40 cats, malnourished, diseased and mistreated. The Humane Society does not let you meet these cats prior to adoption, and the intention was that he was going to be a friend/partner for my current working cat outside.
Once we saw him, we knew our situation had changed. While the Humane Society did their best to treat this fellow, he still had an eye infection, respiratory infection, ear mites, and many wounds all over his body that were not healed. He was recovering from giardia and coccidia, and could not properly process foods. We could not have him outside, and instead, he moved into a bit of an "intensive care" situation within our home.
Since then, we have been working diligently with our local veterinary clinic to save this boy. We've incurred costs of at least $1000 so far, and much more is anticipated. Additionally, despite our best efforts, the respiratory infection has jumped to our other cats as well.
I am asking for your help. For now, the funds are to help stabilize his condition and treat our other cats that have been affected. Once he is stabilized, I will be taking applications for adoption to a loving, indoor home, as he is not the outdoor cat the humane society believed him to be, and we already have a full-compliment of indoor cats to care for.
This little orange dear is a sweet, loving cat and deserves a chance. He is neutered, current on shots, loves other cats, dogs, and people, even though he is still emotionally healing from his upbringing that he was born into. Can you help us save Lobo?
Any additional funds raised that are unused for treatments will be donated to a local animal rescue organization to assist with treatment of animals like Lobo. Thank you, from all of us, for helping.
