Liz Obando has been dealing with complications from a detached retina, in her left eye, since August. All non-surgical treatments have failed, so retinal reattachment surgery is her last option. Without the surgery, she risks losing total vision in her left eye.

On Monday (10/15), Liz was informed by the surgery scheduler at Kaiser that a $4,000 copay must be paid before the surgery is scheduled. She does not have the ability to pay this amount of money, but is attempting to get emergency medial financial assistance through Kaiser. If that fails, we are hoping to raise the money through generous donations.

Liz works for a dog grooming and day care business in Yorba Linda, California.  Her condition has not allowed her to work, since September, and her absence is putting her livelihood at risk. Her doctor has said that, even following surgery, it will be at least another month before she can resume work.
