SAVE LIVES - HUNGARIAN-UKRANIAN BORDER

Troubled and saddened by the current situation - especially- for the poor Ukrainian people, the two of us decided we need to take action. On Monday we rented a truck in Munich, purchased tons of material (sleeping bags, backpacks, battery packs etc) and got in touch with churches, organizations and other initiatives to upload relief supplies and medicine. We managed to fill the 7.5 ton truck and left the same evening to Zahony, Hungary.

 

Day-to-day 15.000 mothers with their children and elderly cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. The majority of which have nowhere to go.

The Order of Malta's local relief corps is brilliantly operating a shelter in Beregsurány, close to Zahóny, for over 2.000 refugee arrivals every day: numbers are dramatically increasing. The biggest issue remains the safety and security for women and children once they move on to their next destination.

Tragically kidnappers and pimps are increasingly taking advantage of the situation.

This is where we can help with secure and organized transportation operations.

We felt we needed to make an immediate impact. Supported by Flixmobility we have already managed to send 2 double decker buses to ensure safe transportation for more than 300 people every day = 9.000 people per month.

Each donation will be used to fund cost incurred from operating the buses. Order of Malta who operate the shelter https://www.maltai.hu are directly utilizing the transportation capacity to send mothers, kids and elderly safely to their next destination. As part of our Initiative we also help mobilizing the operational interface between Order of Malta shelter and FlixBus transportation operations.
