Save lives, build a life
Hi, I'm Ali and I'm trying to build a clothing brand! But I also want to help people! So I thought, "why not kill two birds with one stone?". I'm a 40 year old construction worker, occasional musician and would be designer. Mental health problems have affected my life for years and I have first hand experience of how hard it can be to get the help and support you need. Statistics show significantly higher rates of mental health problems and suicide in construction when compared to other sectors, with suicide rates at 3.7 percent higher than the national average. Our starting goal is automatically set at £700 so if we only hit that I'll donate it all to Lighthouse, a great charity who support the wellbeing of construction workers and their families in the UK and Ireland, but receive no government funding. Above that and I'll do a split between Lighthouse and investing in my clothing brand Grave Industries UK. All sales from the Grave Industries website will then donate 10% to Lighthouse for the next 6 months.
I don't expect it for nothing though, starting on the 7th of July I'm going to do a sprint distance triathlon every day for 41 days to torture myself in hope the sadists amongst you get on board just to see me suffer!
Sprint Distance Triathlon as defined by British Triathlon is:
Swim - 400m in a pool
Bike – 20km
Run – 5km
