Help Save Melissa’s Life

Some of you know my wife as Melissa or Liss Haviv, or Melissa Hart. To me, she is Papaya, and to our son she is Mamma. And to the thousands whose lives have been touched by her lifetime of public service, she is a visionary change-making hero.

Here, in her own words, is what is happening:

My dear friends,

If my existence has touched you in some positive or meaningful way, please consider helping me prolong my life. I have a rare, incurable, stage IV form of breast cancer, metastasized to lymph, lungs, bone and brain. My prognosis is not good.

However, overcoming “insurmountable” odds has been my lifelong specialty. Every year we can keep me alive is one more year of new treatments and racing to the cure, and one more year of my precious boy having a mamma.

In order to have that chance I need your help. The stakes are literally life and death. I need as big and powerful a village as we can muster. I need your love and support. And I desperately need financial resources for expenses not covered by insurance.

I have raised much money for many causes throughout my life and now it is my turn to ask for help for me. My work has enriched the lives of many, including my own, but has not been especially income-generating..and often given pro bono. Now I need $70,000. It’s an amount some people might drop on a designer handbag, but literally the difference between life and death for me. I believe my life is worth it. Will you help me save it?
