Help My Dear Friend Sachin Fight Stage 4 Brain Tumor – Urgent Medical Funds Needed
Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
My name is Pradip Thapa, and I live in Scarborough, Toronto. I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help for my close friend, Sachin Ghanshyambhai Panjwani, a 26-year-old young man who has been battling a serious brain tumor.
Just a few months ago, Sachin started experiencing severe headaches and weakness in his arms and legs. After tests at Scarborough Health Network, an MRI revealed a devastating diagnosis: a large left cerebellar mass, measuring about 4.5 x 5.5 x 4.4 cm, involving key areas of the brain like the left middle cerebellar peduncle and pons. This tumor is compressing critical structures, including the fourth ventricle and brainstem, causing displacement and mild hydrocephalus (buildup of fluid in the brain). The doctors have described it as an aggressive tumor requiring immediate and intensive treatment, consistent with a high-grade (stage 4) brain tumor.
Sachin is a kind, hardworking young man with his whole life ahead of him. He came to Canada full of dreams, but this diagnosis has turned everything upside down. He has already undergone urgent consultations with neurosurgery specialists, and the recommendation is for aggressive intervention – likely including surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, followed by radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Additional gadolinium-enhanced scans and ongoing monitoring are also needed to guide the best treatment plan.
In Canada, while some healthcare is covered, the costs for advanced brain tumor treatment can be overwhelming – especially for medications, specialized therapies, rehabilitation, travel to appointments, lost wages during recovery, and any uncovered procedures or supportive care. As a young immigrant without extensive family support here, Sachin is facing enormous financial pressure on top of his health battle. These expenses are mounting quickly, and without help, it could limit his access to the full care he desperately needs to fight this and have a chance at recovery.
We are hoping to raise $50,000 (or as much as possible) to cover:
- Surgical and hospital costs not fully covered
- Radiation and chemotherapy sessions
- Medications and follow-up MRI scans
- Rehabilitation and physical therapy for weakness
- Living expenses during treatment when he can't work
Every dollar will go directly toward giving Sachin the best possible chance to beat this tumor and regain his strength.
Sachin is a fighter – despite the pain and uncertainty, he remains positive and grateful for the support around him. As his friend, I've seen how this has affected him, and I can't stand by without doing everything I can to help. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference in his fight for life. If you can't donate, please share this campaign with your networks – sharing is just as powerful.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading Sachin's story and for any support you can offer. Together, we can give him hope and the resources to keep fighting.
With gratitude,
Pradip Thapa
