Our Friend Larry Stevens Needs Our Help!
Franklin Village is a small, unique community of colorful characters nestled under the Hollywood sign. One of these characters, 73 year old Larry Stevens, has been a beloved member of the community “The Block” since 2005.
And right now Larry needs our help.
You see, Larry was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and is currently a patient at City of Hope, where he is receiving a variety of treatments. He's been hospitalized several times in the last few months. Time spent in the hospital, mixed with the fatigue from the out patient procedures, and unable to work his normal job the way he used to, has ruined Larry financially.
Now Larry is in danger of losing his home (same one he's lived in since 1979), his car, and being thrown out on the street with nothing but cancer to keep him company. He really needs the community he loves and has been a part of for so long to come together and help him out. But we're not just asking his local community, we are also reaching out to the wider community - you! - to come to the aid of a genuinely awesome old man beset with financial and medical struggles. Larry has no blood relatives to come to his aid, so we are the only family he's got.
Jeremy, aka Turbo, and I want to do something to help Larry. We created this Gofundme campaign to help raise some much-needed funds to provide Larry the ability to fight cancer on his own terms, with a house, a car and a job. We can't let him face down this monster alone on the streets, or in a medical facility removed from the places and people he loves. Our goal is to relieve some of his stress, and let his focus be on beating this cancer.
Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. If you can't give financially, please like and share his story, so that we have a better chance of reaching our goal.
