Hi! Larrel is my best friend and my baby. He is 13 years old and I’ve had him for a little over 11 years now. He’s seen me through my divorce, my depression and so much more.
Now Larrel needs me today. Larrel started crying out in pain when urinating and I rushed him to the emergency vet. As he is a male cat (they have narrow urethras), difficulty urinating is a high risk of a blockage happening which then leads to a painful death within hours if he doesn’t get the life saving surgery he needs right away. The emergency vet made sure a blockage was not happening, gave him fluids and sent us home with pain meds so that we could get through the night safely and go to another vet in the morning. We have since found out he has 2-4 stones and grit which increases a blockage still occurring. He is currently on a new diet to try and help break up the stones and pass them, but there is no guarantee it will work and may ultimately need surgery in the end. He is also still at risk of having a blockage occur at any moment and needing emergency surgery or dying a painful death within hours. His surgery is a thousand dollars. On top of all the fees from the emergency vet, the second vet, his x-ray, bloodwork, urine sample, pain meds and prescription diet. Anything you could donate towards his surgery is deeply appreciated. Please help to keep Larrel alive and safe.
