Help Us Preserve Our History: A Message from Steve Lincoln
My name is Steve Lincoln, and I’m reaching out on behalf of the Lake Norden Historical Society. My father, Jon Lincoln, along with many other dedicated individuals, poured their blood, sweat, and tears into preserving the heritage of our region. I had the honor of helping my dad build the pole barn that now houses many of the antiques he generously donated — artifacts that reflect the spirit, struggle, and stories of those who came before us.
The Lake Norden Historical Society is a nonprofit organization committed to preserving items of historical, cultural, and educational importance — from Native American artifacts to early agricultural tools, from school memorabilia to community heirlooms. These buildings are not just storage spaces — they are living connections to our shared past.
Unfortunately, the historical society is now facing a very real threat. They simply do not have enough funds to cover basic costs like insurance and utilities. Their reserves are down to just a few dollars. Without immediate support, they may be forced to close our doors — and with that, we risk losing access to generations of history.
We are asking for your help.
Whether through a donation, a new membership, or simply volunteering your time, you can help ensure that this history remains preserved for future generations. Every dollar counts. Every helping hand matters.
Let’s keep the story of Lake Norden alive — not just for today, but for tomorrow.
Thank you for supporting the legacy of our community.
