Today, this treasured site faces critical disrepair. Time and the elements have worn down its ancient walls, damaged its historic structures, and left essential facilities inadequate for the monks, pilgrims, and community members who depend on it. Without immediate action, we risk losing not only a physical space but an irreplaceable part of Ethiopia’s spiritual and cultural identity.
