Save Kodiak’s Eyesight from Diabetes Mellitus
Donation protected
Hi, we are Michelle and Tate, the parents of Kodiak! Kodi is a 9 year old Pomeranian who was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus. His high blood sugars has caused cataracts and he’s lost complete vision of his left eye and starting to lose vision in the right. Due to the diabetes, cataracts develop at an extremely fast rate. Other than the diabetes, kodi is in great health with the same spunky, playful, protective, cuddle bug personality he’s always had. We are hoping to save at least one eye through cataract surgery to ensure he has a good quality of life. Since losing his vision he’s run into things which led to knocking a couple front teeth out.
We are asking for donations due to the time frame of being a surgery candidate. With the rapid progression he must have surgery as soon as possible otherwise the cataracts will be irreversible and he will be completely blind the rest of his life possibly leading to glaucoma, which is painful and requires complete eye removal.
We thank you for your time and consideration in helping Kodi!
