This is Somer Traylor, president and founder of Meowtopia Cat Rescue. We have received an amazing deal from an amazing vet for MOUSE’S RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY. IT’S $3800 for him to get a better quality of life and maintain lifelong mobility.
We rescued Mouse from Whittier Ca. His finders found him trapped in a rat trap under their house and reached out for help. He was about 6 weeks old. Well now he is almost 5 months and is ready for his reconstructive arm surgery!
He has been to four different vets, and has had a rough beginning. He had to go to the vet weekly at first then biweekly. A couple of times I didn’t think he was going to make it.
The severe trauma the rat trap caused was very detrimental to his health. He had an infection in his left paw that was completely degloved and ended up falling off. His right arm completely smashed under the elbow is the arm that needs reconstruction. When he came to me he was eating soft foods and drinking from the bottle. He had an infection in both arms.
It took a lot to get him to eat sometimes and there were days I didn’t think he was going to make it.
But here he is strong and ready for his surgery. To help him have mobility his whole life and improve his quality of life.
REASON FOR SURGERY:
PER 2 DIFFERENT SPECIALISTS AND DISCUSSIONS WITH MANY VET TECH’S THEY BELIVE HIS LEFT LEG WITH THE MISSING PAW WILL EVENTUALLY NEED TO BE AMPUTATED DUE TO POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF PRESSURE SORES. HOWEVER, RECONSTRUCTION OF HIS RIGHT LEG WILL HELP HIM GAIN MOBILITY ON IT AND KEEP HIS MISSING PAW LEG FOR LONGER. THEN WHEN HE DOES NEED HIS LEFT LEG AMPUTATED HE WIL STULL HAVE SOME FORM OF MOBILITY.
