Save Kitsuné Moon

Hello! I'm Jenifer Keith, Owner and Proprietress of Kitsuné Moon. I own a small, eclectic boutique brick and mortar gift shop in Ft. Wayne, IN, predominantly (80%+) featuring, highlighting, and supporting local artists and artisans. It also includes my one-of-a-kind bespoke jewelry which is upcycled from vintage and antique pieces, reworking with precious and semi-precious stones and crystals.

This passion project began last February, 2022 after I was able to find a unique space to go with all the eclectic inventory I hoped to carefully curate to sell and share with the community.

And this is where it gets difficult. After taking out a few loans from different sources, and sinking my entire savings into the shop as well as to supplement my income so as not to take a paycheck for at least the 1st year, I've had several unexpected obstacles and expenses and I'm currently just drowning in debt while struggling to keep both shop open, and myself treading water.

Car issues, health issues, veterinary & home repair expenses, inclement weather causing the shop to be closed, especially the winter storm that closed everything down the week leading up to Christmas - all took an extremely heavy toll.

I desperately need to get caught up on loan repayments, rent, utilities, and monthly expenses. I need to purchase proper accounting software such as Quickbooks and pay off the little I've purchased wholesale. I need financial help. I'm in crisis mode.

I want to be able to keep the shop open; Support local artists and artisans, hold events, classes, and outdoor markets, donate handcrafted, one-of-a-kind jewelry to help others fundraise, and give back as much as possible, to this amazing community I'm thankful to find myself a part of, all while offering a unique shopping experience and making connections with amazing people and businesses.

I am also currently looking to obtain grants, as well as refinance and consolidate where I can. But my needs are pressing and immediate and waiting for grants to come through is just not feasible in this situation

As to how I'm going to avoid this from happening repeatedly, I am seeking contract work for Graphic Design, Marketing, and Social Media Management jobs which will supplement my monthly income and get me out of continually being in the red.
