Save Kimber: A Puppy’s Fight for a Loving Home

Meet Kimber, a 5 month old blue heeler I recently rescued from an unhoused individual in Spokane, WA. Sadly, she had been exposed to unsafe conditions due to her previous owner struggling with drug use. When I asked how much for the puppy, the woman said 100 dollars. I paid it, knowing I already had a loving home lined up for Kimber with my good friend Trevor.
At first, everything was going beautifully. Kimber was adjusting to her new life. She was warm, safe, well fed, and finally experiencing the stability every puppy deserves. She quickly bonded with her new big brother Cooper, who is a toddler, and in just one week they had already formed a special connection.
On March 5th, 2026, Kimber and her new family traveled to the Tri Cities to visit Cooper’s grandparents and introduce the new puppy. She had received her vaccinations the day before and seemed to be doing great. But that Sunday, shortly after arriving, Kimber suddenly became very sick. She was lethargic, vomiting foam, and suffering from severe diarrhea. She could barely stand and was clearly in distress.
Trevor rushed her to Mid Columbia Pet Emergency in the Tri Cities, where she was diagnosed with parvo. She is now fighting for her life.
For the past four days, Kimber has been hospitalized, receiving constant fluids and care. Today, she needs a feeding tube inserted so she can slowly begin taking in nutrients and give her gastrointestinal system a chance to heal.
We are desperately asking for donations to help save this sweet baby’s life. Trevor has already paid a significant portion of the initial hospitalization costs, draining his savings. We are now facing an additional 3200 dollars in expenses, with the possibility of more depending on how long she needs care.
If you can find it in your heart to donate, even just one dollar would make a difference. Kimber deserves a chance. She deserves the loving home she just found and the life she has just begun with her new family and her brother Cooper.

shorten it up a little

Here’s a shorter, more concise version that still keeps the emotion:

Meet Kimber, a 5 month old blue heeler I recently rescued from an unhoused individual in Spokane, WA. She had been exposed to unsafe conditions, but I was able to get her into a loving home with my good friend Trevor.
Kimber quickly began adjusting to her new life. She was warm, safe, well fed, and finally experiencing the stability every puppy deserves. She also bonded right away with her big brother Cooper, who is a toddler.
On March 5th, 2026, Kimber traveled with her new family to the Tri Cities. She had just received her vaccinations and seemed perfectly healthy. But that Sunday, she suddenly became very sick. She was lethargic, vomiting, and had severe diarrhea. She could barely stand.
Trevor rushed her to Mid Columbia Pet Emergency, where she was diagnosed with parvo. She is now fighting for her life.
She has been hospitalized for four days receiving fluids and care, and now needs a feeding tube to help her body begin healing.
Trevor has already drained his savings to cover the initial costs, and we are now facing about 3200 dollars more, with the possibility of additional expenses.
If you can donate, even one dollar helps. Kimber deserves a chance at the life she just found with her new family.
