About a week ago, my dog Kevin started to feel really sick. He ate something that didn’t agree with him. Throughout the night, he started vomiting and having diarrhea. My assumption was he just had a stomach upset. Well, a couple of days went by and he wasn’t getting better but worse, so I took him to the emergency vet. They looked at him and rushed him into the back. I told them what happened, and they tried to figure out what was going on with him. His blood pressure was really low, he could barely stand, and he had a fever. They proceeded to try to find the answer. They found stuff in his lungs and thought the worst. He had to be in an oxygen tank, and they had to stick a needle in his lung to get the liquid out. So far, he has stayed in emergency for 3 days in an oxygen tank. He has seen improvement since he went in and is now home. They are treating him for pneumonia, so it is still a battle to get through.

His whole stay, with tests and draining of the lungs, cost me about $7000. With this being said, I am asking for help from anyone who can/wants to. It is hard for me to ask for help, but I feel like the money battle forward is daunting. Sometimes we need the love of family and community to get us through hard times. With that being said, I need you! I need help getting through this. He is my everything! I have had him for 15 years, he is a fighter, and we both send out love and gratitude for just reading his story and the consideration to help and maybe passing on my post.
