Katie Scott Medical Support

Hello, my name is Joshua and I am writing this today with reverence, humility & unmeasurable gratitude for your support. I am raising funds for my wife Katie Scott. Katie is 35, a loving mother & devoted wife of 15 years.

Oct 24 2022 - We found out Katie is in the end stage of liver disease that will require a transplant. We must secure funding for 20% of the cost of the procedure. We are doing everything we can, exploring all options and resources available. Donations of any size tremendously help. All of the DR visits and bills are becoming overwhelming. We will continue to post updates on her condition regularly. Words cannot really describe Katie.. She is something simply beautiful, to know Katie is to love Katie.

October 24th 2022 - We went to Harrison County hospital, Katie had severe abdominal pain and was passing blood in her stool / vomit. Katie was immediately given multiple blood transfusions due to her mineral and electrolyte levels being near fatal from blood loss. Harrison County transferred Katie to Nortons hospital in Louisville KY, where she had a team of 6 specialists. After a lot of testing / labs we learned that she has (ESLD) end stage liver disease with tense ascites and portal hypertensive gastropathy that is already in the decompensated stage and requires a transplantKatie is ASA IV - Patient with a severe systemic disease that is a constant threat to life.

  • To get Katie on the transplant list we must show proof of funding for 20% of the procedure. We really dislike having to ask others for help, times are hard for everyone right now. Unfortunately there is no possible way we would ever be able to do this on our own.
  • All donations received will go towards Katie's treatment, medical costs related.

Katie's health started declining in 2018. Katie had an emergency arterial femoral bypass surgery and stent placement on her heart. Shortly after she had to have two toes amputated and veins rerouted due to blood flow and clotting issues. Since, about every six months it seems we were back at the hospital for different complications each time that they could never pinpoint the root cause. Internal bleeding, hypokalemia, anemia due to acute blood loss, melena, ascites, portal hypertensive gastropathy which now we know they were mostly caused by the liver disease that has went unnoticed in all previous visits at Harrison County...

We welcome ALL the prayers we can get, even kind words of encouragement help Katie to stay thinking positively.

**** Please share this! The more this is seen the better the possible outcome becomes ****

Thank you and God Bless,
Joshua & Katie Scott
