Kate Barnhart needs help ~~ She does amazing work as the founder and Executive Director of New Alternatives for Homeless LGBT Youth,
Don’t let a homeless advocate become homeless herself…
Since she created New Alternatives in 2008, Kate has helped over 2,000 homeless youth to embark and progress on their path to self-sufficiency. And this is not all Kate has been doing -- she started her social service work in high school and has been continually engaged in making positive social change. She’s worked with ACT UP, CASES, the Church Ladies for Choice, Clearwater, Coalition of Peer Educators, Fed Up Queers, Hampshire AIDS Action Collective, The Neutral Zone, Sylvia’s Place, YELL (Youth Education Life Line), Youth Pride, and on.
She's helped so many – now Kate needs our help!
Kate's house needs serious repair and she is in danger of losing it. Her social action employment does not provide the income she needs to make the changes.
To avoid eviction, Kate needs a new roof, repairs to windows, plumbing fixes, and wiring updates. It’s a serious job, and on a tight deadline (within 30 days).
Please give generously and share the word, even with those who don’t know Kate. Every dollar donated helps. If we get 30 donations of $1,000 we hit our mark and make her home safe and secure again. Please help us get there ASAP. Thank you!
