Hi, my name is Karina, and I’m going through a very challenging moment with my dog Jumper.
Last night, Jumper was rushed to the emergency vet after he suddenly became extremely ill. He was diagnosed with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE), a serious, potentially fatal condition if left untreated. Jumper was severely dehydrated and had to be hospitalized immediately. He’s now on IV fluids and being monitored closely. The vet says he’ll need to stay at least one more night, and also needs an ultrasound to rule out anything more serious.
This was completely unexpected. On Tuesday he was completely fine, eating normally, happy and energetic. Yesterday he became lethargic, vomiting, and refusing food and water.
I’m currently a full-time student with no income, and the cost of Jumper’s emergency care is something I can’t afford on my own. The total bill is expected to be around $5500.
If you know me, you know how much Jumper means to me. He's not just a pet, he's my best friend, family, and my comfort through every high and low. He's been by my side through undergrad, my master's program, and now professional school. The thought of losing him over something treatable is devastating.
If you’re able to help whether by donating or sharing this page, I would be so grateful. Every contribution helps me get closer to bringing Jumper home.
Thank you for reading, caring, and supporting Jumper and me through this difficult time.
