Help Save Julinha: A Race Against Time

Hello! We are family friends of Júlia Pontes Teixeira Domingues (Julinha), a bright and loving 4-year-old girl from Brazil. Recently, Julinha was diagnosed with CLN7 (Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis Type 7)—an ultra-rare, degenerative neurological disease with fewer than 30 known cases worldwide.

This cruel disease progressively robs children of their ability to walk, talk, see, and think, ultimately cutting their lives tragically short. But there is hope.

A Lifesaving Treatment—But Time is Running Out

A groundbreaking experimental treatment developed by Elpida Therapeutics in partnership with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center has shown promising results since 2021. This treatment could halt or even reverse the disease’s progression—but it is still in the testing phase and requires urgent funding.

To move forward and produce the necessary medication, we need to raise $3 million—an overwhelming amount, but one that could save Julinha’s life and help other children battling CLN7.
