Many of you know my three-year-old cat Jones (aka Jonesy, Bones, etc) either by meeting him in person or seeing his pictures on my socials. Jones is my little buddy who's always been there for me and saw me through some dark times, but now he's very sick.
On Monday, November 13, while recovering at home from treatable urinary issues, his breath became shallow, hs body went limp, and he started bleeding from his bladder. I rushed him to a local Animal ER right away. Jones had quickly developed a massive blockage in his urethra and his bladder was full of blood. The doctors said had he arrived at the hospital even a half hour later, he would have died.
They were able to clear the obstruction and stabilize him in the ICU, give him a blood transfusion, and take care of him- but all this has been expensive.
Even with family helping, we're looking at a few thousand more for his care, especially as he may need a cystotomy, which could be another roughly $2k alone.
In a better situation I would be able to take this financial hit in stride, but I'm already dealing with big hospital bills of my own from a stay earlier this year and I can't handle it all myself. Matt's helping as much as he can, but it's still a lot for both of us. I'm at my wit's end, which is why I'm humbly asking for help.
I'm hoping to collect the full amount needed to cover his medical care + cost of surgery if needed, but any amount you can give will help us immensely. If for any reason he takes a turn for the worse and doesn't make it, the money will be used to help defray any current medical costs. He's my baby and I love him so much. Anything you can do to help me bring him home would mean the world, even if you only share because you can't give yourself. I can't thank you enough.
